Some activities have been suspended due to the Covid Pandemic.

Fellowship in Learning - Christian Education Ministry

To aid our church family and others in scriptural knowledge, in empowerment for Christian discipleship, and in preparation for winning souls to Christ, we provide the following adjusted services during the Covid-19 Pandemic:

Sunday:

 8:00 AM:

WDKX Radio Program - "The Way of Truth" - hosted by Minister Clifford Florence, Sr.

“The Way of Truth” reaches out to people throughout the Rochester community with the powerful message of Jesus Christ. We have witnessed souls saved because of this ministry. We receive many calls, letters, and requests for our Bible Correspondence Course; and we gain opportunities to meet and talk with many people because of our radio program.

Fellowship in Giving - Benevolence Ministry

1st and 3rd Saturday (11:30 AM–1:00 PM)

Our “Meals with Love” and “Clothing Giveaway” ministries provide for us the opportunity of serving the poor and those who experience periodic hardships. Through this ministry, many members of our congregation (young people, men, and women) experience the joy that is inherent in serving others.

 Sunday Morning (7:00 AM–9:00 AM)

Various “Life Group Teams” prepare and serve a “JumpStart Breakfast” to the homeless and other members of the community. Participants are also provided the opportunity to hear a brief spiritual message and join in the singing of spiritual songs.

As the need arises, Central also provides economic support to its
 members, sister congregations, and others.

Fellowship in Development - Shepherding Ministry

2nd Sunday (4:30 PM–6:00 PM) (Suspended)

“Men's Ministry” and “Ladies' Ministry” are invaluable to our Christian growth, overall ministries support, and the life of our congregation. These ministries afford us so much in untapped resources that aid our individual and communal development.

 Flexible Schedule

“Youth Ministry” has taken on new life, and our young people are becoming more involved. This ministry is extremely vital for the Christian development of our youth and their futures, for our interaction and support, and for the future of our congregation as well.

Other Ministries

Monday (6:30 PM–8:30 PM) (Suspended)

Our “Circle of Comfort Ministry” and “In Reach/Outreach Ministry” meet to respond to the needs of our membership and others with whom we have contact. At this time, telephone calls are made, encouragement cards are prepared, and support activities are planned.

Tuesday (7:00 PM) (Suspended)

Our “Senior Choir Ministry” presents songs through which we lift up the name of Jesus, worshipping Him through the language everyone understands and enjoys. In rehearsals, weekly worship, and offsite engagements, we touch hearts and lives through our spiritual singing. As stated in 1 Corinthians 14:15 and Ephesians 5:19, we sing with the spirit and with the understanding, making melody in our hearts to the Lord. We are blessed to have a professional musical assistant and a talented sister who serves as choir directress.

 Flexible Schedule

Our “Praise Team Ministry” prepares brothers to lead our membership in congregational singing during the worship services.

We exist to do God's Will
in making a difference in the lives of people.
Our ministries help us to fulfill this purpose.

IN-REACH/OUT-REACH MINISTRY

Vitalizes the work of the congregation

Increases enrollment, attendance, and membership

Secures cooperation between church and home

Inspires regular attendance

Typifies our Lord's spirit

Affords soul-winning opportunity

Touches the person far away from Christ

Insures your own spiritual growth

Obeys the command of Christ

Nurtures friendship with our new members

PRAYER MINISTRY

"And the prayer of faith shall save the sick, and the Lord shall raise him up;

and if he have committed sins, they shall be forgiven him."

“Confess your faults one to another, and pray one for another, that ye may be healed.

The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much.”

(James 5:15-16)

The Central Church of Christ “Prayer Warriors” gather on Wednesday's (6:00 PM)

to render heartfelt interceptions on behalf of those who have requested special prayer, the bereaved, and people in general.

.
WE EXTEND OUR EARNEST PRAYERS FOR
AND DEEPEST SYMPATHY TO
CHURCH FAMILY AND FRIENDS
WHO ARE DEALING WITH THE LOSS
OF THEIR LOVED ONES.

May all find comfort in the Scripture below:

1 Thessalonians 4:13-17

“Brothers and sisters, we do not want you to be uninformed

about those who sleep in death, so that you do not grieve

like the rest of mankind, who have no hope. For we believe

that Jesus died and rose again, and so we believe that God

will bring with Jesus those who have fallen asleep in him.

According to the Lord’s word, we tell you that we who are

still alive, who are left until the coming of the Lord, will

certainly not precede those who have fallen asleep.   For the

Lord himself will come down from heaven, with a loud

command, with the voice of the archangel and with the

trumpet call of God, and the dead in Christ will rise first.

After that, we who are still alive and are left will be caught

up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the

air.  And so we will be with the Lord forever.
We pray for help and healing for all who have been touched
by recent tragedies, especially those who

  • have lost loved ones,
  • suffered the ravages of natural disasters,
  • or experienced other calamities.
